Erasmus+ Sport project : Athletes go Further in life – Meeting in Romania

The presentation of the project “Athletes go Further in Life!” took place on January 20th, 2020 in the city of Oradea, Romania. (“Athletes go Further in Life!”), a project co-financed by the Erasmus + program in the area of sports.

Sports Club King-Do Lions Oradea is the coordinator of the project that counts with the partnership of:

  • Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Margherita Sport e Vita (Italy),
  • Associação Desportiva Cultural e Social de Carvalhais(Portugal),
  • Ondokuz Mayis Universitesi (Turkey),
  • TKD Spirit Association (Hungary).

The main goal of the project is to promote sports education, to increase the number of athletes that adopt a second career during their sports career, and to guide these same athletes to choose a career linked to sports, after their career as practitioners is over.

During this project 25 athletes will benefit from a professional training course as sports instructors to optimize their preparation for the “after-sport” as athletes.

In collaboration with the Professional Training Center “M.A.R.A” these athletes will obtain the sport instructor qualification, a qualification recognized at a European level as a certified degree.

The Associação Desportiva Cultural e Social de Carvalhais was represented at the event by its President, Pedro Correia, and the President of the Carvalhais Town Council, Nelson Teixeira.

At the event there were also present the following personalities:

  • Constantin Bogdan Matei member of the Romanian Parliament, former Minister of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
  • Ioan Sorin Roman – Member of Parliament of Romania.
  • Arina Spătaru – Member of Moldova’s Parliament
  • Mircea Mălan – Vice Mayor of Oradea
  • Poti Csaba – Deputy Director of the Bihor Region Project Development and Implementation Directorate
  • Marius Oltean – Senior Advisor to the Cluj Region in the area of Sports and Youth
  • Alexandru Gheorghe Cojocaru – President of the Romanian Federation of Pangration Athlima
  • Radu Traian Bitea – President of the Bihor Region Football Association
